We saw a great turnout of Democrats in Knox County voting in the May 5 primary election. If you were one of the 2,719 voters who selected the Democratic Party ballot in our county, thank you! We elected an excellent slate of candidates for November.

It’s time to get to work — and have some fun while we’re at it!
There are lots of different ways you can get involved:
Our 2026 Picnic and Fundraiser will be held June 28 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Honey Pine Event Center in Danville. Meet the Democratic Party candidates and enjoy an afternoon with other Democrats from the area. This is a family-friendly event, and we’d like you all to come. We will kick off our door-to-door canvassing efforts in early June with a listening campaign. We’ve hired two college students to help us this summer, and they will canvass with other Knox County Dems (like you!). Training for this listening campaign starts June 2. You can learn more about it and sign up here.
We want to keep the office open as much as possible, and are looking for people who can help us do that. I’ll show you the ropes and train you. You can pretty much name the days and times you’d like to help in this way (within reason). Right now, we’re only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11 am to 3 pm, but — with your help — we’d like to expand those times if possible. If at all possible, please donate to the Knox County Democratic Party. Donations to our General Fund:

allow us to make financial donations to Democratic Party candidates in our area

help us to maintain an office year-round and to have a presence at First Fridays, the Knox County Fair, and other events

pay for all sorts of more mundane but necessary items — like paper, our telephone and internet access in the office, and electricity and heat.
We literally cannot do what we do without your help.
This summer, we’re also offering a way for folks to designate donations to help replenish money that we are spending to have two student interns working with us his summer.

It probably seems that we ask for a lot. Frankly, this year we all need to give whatever we can. Let’s make sure we get good Democrats elected in November.
