Details on candidates and key dates will be posted as soon as possible after the candidate petition deadline, February 4, 2026.
For the time being, you can stop by the Knox County Democratic Party office on a Wednesday or Saturday during the month of January (11 am – 3 pm) to sign petitions for Democratic Party candidates to get on the ballot. To be a valid petition signer, you must be registered to vote in Knox County, and you must be either a registered Democratic Party voter (i.e., you voted as a Democrat in the primary election in 2024) or Unaffiliated (meaning you have not voted in any primary in the last two years). If you are registered as a Republican (you voted in the Republican primary in 2024), your signature on a Democratic Party candidate’s petition will not be considered valid, as per Ohio law.
