URGENT: Knox County Board of Elections Needs Election Worker Volunteers

The majority of poll workers are elderly retired Knox County residents who are more at risk for Covid19.  Younger poll workers are needed to work the polls on Nov 3.  It does require training prior to election day.  Please consider volunteering.

KCDP Volunteer Needs

Yes, we have lots of things to do between now and November 3. The two most important jobs right now:  phone banking and postcards.

phone bank
Phone banking is our most pandemic-safe, direct voter outreach effort, since we won’t be able to canvass neighbors. It is done in the comfort of your home. You will talk with Knox County residents about voting. We will have virtual phone banking every Wednesday evening, 7-8pm, and Sunday afternoon, 2-4pm. We encourage volunteers to sign up for a standing weekly slot, if possible. You will be able to see other volunteers on Zoom while you make your calls.  If those days and times don’t work for you, don’t worry, you can also use the virtual phone bank on your own schedule, after you have received training. Interested? Email Pat Keane, our phone bank leader, patriciakeane30@gmail.com or call 740-504-8930 and let her know which times and dates you want to sign up for, or request more info.
Yes, postcards! Since we can’t go door-to-door to canvass registered voters in Knox County, we’re going to reach them with upbeat personal messages about why to vote for Democrats, up and down the ticket. In fact, we’re planning to write and mail 6,000 of these postcards (don’t worry—one side is printed) from now until October when early voting begins. This is a project you can do at home! We will provide you with sample messages, postcards, stamps and addresses. Want to help? Contact Crystal Tuel, our postcard leader, at crystuel@gmail.com.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Please share with friends! This effort will help us reach more Democrats since we’re unable to canvass. The most important thing we can do right now is to REACH voters!
