P.G. Sittenfeld, city councilman in Cincinnati, primary candidate for Senate in 2016, and rising Democratic star in Ohio, will be the keynote speaker at the Knox County Democratic Party’s annual Spring Dinner on the evening of Friday, May 15, 2015.
Sittenfeld has attracted attention for his command of urban policy in Cincinnati, and he surprised many by announcing his campaign to take on incumbent Rob Portman in the 2016 Senate race. He’s also raised eyebrows by seeking the primary nod in a race in which candidate Ted Strickland, Ohio’s former governor, is seen as a favorite to win. He will speak about his municipal leadership and his policy-based campaign at the Spring Dinner. (The Knox County Democratic Party has not endorsed a candidate in the primary race.)
The Spring Dinner will feature appearances by local elected officials, including Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis, who is seeking a new term as mayor in the 2015 election.
The Spring Dinner will be held at Mount Vernon’s historic B&O Depot and will feature a catered meal by Lanning’s. Final registration details will be released soon.
