· Jordan Announces Run for County Commissioner
Rebecca L. Jordan, Democratic two-term Mount Vernon Councilwoman, has filed her petitions as a candidate for the Knox County Commissioner’s seat.
As a member of the Mount Vernon City Council, Jordan has worked hard to serve the people of Mount Vernon. She serves as head chair of the Fire/Police/Civil Defense Committee, ranking chair of Planning/Zoning, and is a member of both the Streets/Public Buildings and Employee & Community Relations Committees. Jordan is also on the Department of Transportation through the Regional Planning Commission.
Jordan said that her “…run for this office is sparked by a desire to serve the people of Knox County and to take an active role in solving our problems…” Jordan went on to say, “I want to bring an honest transparency to the office of County Commissioner. The tax payers deserve stable and reliable representation. I will continue in my efforts to make Knox County a place where people can be proud to raise a family and feel a part of this wonderful community.”
Jordan lives at 602 E. Chestnut St. with her husband, Scott, and two children, Alex and Elise. She is an insurance agent with Associated Insurance Agencies, Inc. and holds a CPIA and CISR professional certifications. Mrs. Jordan is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon.
