· First Anniversary of the Stimulus Bill—How Did We Do?

ACCORDING TO TIME MAGAZINE, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), aka The Stimulus, earned high marks for a new government bond program, support for state programs (i.e., keeping teachers and emergency personnel on the payroll),  and extending unemployment benefits, and nearly flunked in infrastructure spending.

In Knox County, much of the funding has gone to education and tax credit assistance services, along with some infrastructure and housing support.  More than $9 million has been directed to Knox County through the State of Ohio, and $8 million to the region’s projects.  Check out the current list of funded projects on the Recovery.Ohio.gov site.
