JJ Dinner to Honor Booth, Dice
| October 25, 2011 | ||
| 6:30 pm | to | 8:30 pm |
A fundraiser and social event for the Knox County Democratic Party, this year’s Jefferson Jackson Dinner will be keynoted by David Pepper, chair of Saving Ohio’s Future, former Hamilton County commissioner and 2010 candidate for state auditor.
Two longtime public servants, John Booth and Chuck Dice, will be the dinner’s honored guests. Together, Booth and Dice have contributed nearly 75 years on the Mount Vernon City Council. The Mount Vernon News interviewed both men in January when they announced their decision to retire. Dice noted that he is most proud of his efforts to enhance the Park System within the city while Booth spoke of his pride in the ongoing dialogue he created between the council and the Knox County Commissioners and the Mount Vernon Board of Education. Their desire to serve the people of Mount Vernon makes them worthy recipients of this honor.
There will be a $35.00 per person or $60.00 per couple charge for the dinner with a special price for students who wish to attend; proceeds will benefit the Knox County Democratic Party.
The event will be held in the historic Great Room at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. Please RSVP to Mary Rugola-Dye at 740-397-1209 or 740- 501-0905 or you can email her at mt.vernonmary@gmail.com.
